Warm Elegant Highlights with Gold

Warm Elegant Highlights with Gold

When gold is paired well, it adds a sophisticated element that warms up any interior.

Contemporary lights

Decent wall lights are hard to find.  These Drone Wall lights in deep dark chocolate and gold are really going to set the tone for an interior I am working on.

Nominated for the Amara Blog Awards

I am honoured to have been nominated for UK’s Amara Interior Blog Awards, in the Design Inspiration section. If you would like to vote I would love your support. There is a Voting Badge at the bottom left of the home page, which takes you to the voting page.  Thanks xx. For this week’s blog I have been spoilt for choice finding these fabulous products from Corcovado to David Shaw, Seneca to Atelier.

Naturally Rugs

Naturally Rugs

There are so many options for rugs, it is integral to get the balance right within the room.  The colour; style; size; positioning, as well as the components of the rug are all important to consider.  I tend towards the natural wools, jute, hemp and sisal.  It is reassuring to see the carpet companies coming out with more wool ranges again.  I think they have more presence than artificial ones.  However there are times when the artificial ones are more appropriate in a practical sense.

Shopping for a client last week I found a beautiful range within the inner city from some of my favourite suppliers – SF Design; Artisan and Designer Rugs

Treat Yourself

Treat Yourself

Some days it is a treat to discover new pieces – some of them mixed with more established favourites, and some holding their own because they are just so darn sexy.  Imagine sinking into one of these Timothy Oulton sofas from Dawson & Co, under the rock crystal Elysium Ball Pendant.

Colour Inspiration From Kawakawa Leaves

Colour Inspiration From Kawakawa Leaves

We are surrounded by inspiration, so when developing paint colours, and creating colour schemes, I am always on the look out for new combinations of saturations and tones. The colours of these dried Kawakawa leaves are rich in indigo, soft green, walnut brown, and blushed taupe. It’s one of my favourite teas for a revitalising tonic too.  I loved the synchronicity at the launch today of new furniture and furnishings in similar colours.

BTW note no ‘chopped’ cushion in sight !!  Stop it with the chopping people.
